Chrysalis Update
This week, the Inner Arbor Trust released an update for the foundation’s upcoming Chrysalis stage, pavilion, and sculpture in Merriweather Park at Symphony Woods. The project is on schedule and being developed by a diverse team working to create a meaningful work of architecture and art for the Columbia, Maryland community. Zinc Clad Headquarters for KCPD Awarded Highest Honor
The recent addition to the KCPD Headquarters in downtown Kansas City has been recognized by the architectural community. Zahner developed a custom zinc cladding system for the Helix-designed KCPD Renovation, which included both interior metalwork as well as an exterior zinc facade.
10th Anniversary of the New de Young Museum and its Sheet Metal Magic
A decade ago this month, the new de Young Museum opened in San Francisco, California. The Museum has created a special website to celebrate 10 years of the New de Young. The same month ten years ago, Metropolis Magazine published an eight-page profile on Zahner by Peter Hall entitled Sheet Metal Magicians. Hall is a design writer based in London who immersed himself in the A. Zahner Company factory culture, and discovered how such a building comes together.
