In an article for the NYTimes, Ada Louise Huxtable describes both the history as well as the desired futures for the Cooper Union New Academic Building in New York City:
Originally published by the New York times, Dec. 14, 2008, this article by David Dunlap shares the story of the Columbia University Northwest Corner Building, a project that includes a Zahner-manufactured aluminum facade. The design by Moneo Brock completes a campus more than a century in the making.
In 2008, Zahner worked with Crawford Architects and Suikang Zhao on the Bartle Hall Loading Dock. The design is a melding of art and architecture, and as such, its facade design is entitled, The Winds of Aphrodite.
The New de Young Museum, designed by the Pritzker Prize winning firm of Herzog & de Meuron of Basel, Switzerland replaces the original building that was severely damaged during the Loma Prieta Earthquake of 1989.
The November issue of Architectural Record featured the Hunter Museum addition in Chattanooga Tennessee. Designed by Randall Stout Architects, the Museum’s surface design includes curvilinear stainless steel forms by Zahner, as well as a custom patina on zinc developed by Zahner.
