Moda metal panels have always looked good, but now they sound good, too.

Created for modern interiors where calm and quiet matter as much as visual impact, Moda Aeris balances design performance with acoustic functionality. The system maintains the clean geometry, modular flexibility, and rich surface character of Zahner’s patinas and finishes, while introducing sound-dampening capabilities.

Moda has always been about expressive surfaces and modular design. With Moda Aeris, we’re expanding that idea by addressing how a space sounds as well as how it looks. The micro-perforations are engineered to deliver acoustic benefits while remaining nearly indistinguishable from solid surface Moda panels.

Designed for Calm, Built for Performance

Moda Aeris uses tiny perforations paired with a fabric acoustic backer to absorb ambient noise, dampen reverberation, and reduce echo. The perforations are engineered for balance: fine enough to maintain the panel’s visual continuity, yet tuned to improve speech intelligibility and sound comfort in reverberant environments.

This makes Moda Aeris especially well-suited for spaces such as:

  • Lobbies and reception areas
  • Atriums and public gathering spaces
  • Classrooms and learning environments
  • Cultural and entertainment interiors
  • Hospitality and workplace environments

Because the perforations are subtle and integrated into the panel design, Moda Aeris panels retain the same dimensions, geometry, and luminous finish as the standard Moda system, allowing designers to incorporate acoustic performance without compromising visual intent.

Material Versatility and Signature Zahner Finishes

Moda Aeris panels are crafted from a range of architectural metals, including:

  • Stainless steel
  • Weathering steel
  • Blackened steel
  • Iridescent steel
  • Copper
  • Zinc

These materials allow architects and designers to achieve a wide range of visual expressions—from reflective metallic surfaces to deeply textured and patinated finishes.

“Architects increasingly want materials that contribute to the experience of a space in multiple ways,” Sutton said. “Moda Aeris provides another layer of performance while keeping the expressive material qualities designers expect from Zahner.”

The Moda Aesthetic, Now Tuned for Sound

Moda Aeris represents a natural evolution of the Moda system, expanding its capabilities to address both visual composition and acoustic comfort. By integrating micro-perforation technology within Zahner’s modular metal panel design, the system allows designers to create environments that are both visually compelling and acoustically balanced.

The result is a seamless continuation of the Moda aesthetic, now engineered to manage both sight and sound.
