The facade and scrim wall we produced for Thom Mayne’s firm Morphosis has been gorgeously photographed by Iwan Baan and Roland Halbe for Architectural Record. This is the first major project featuring Mayne’s aesthetic use of generative design, which we wrote about earlier this year wishing the architect a happy birthday.

“The dynamic, aluminum-clad structure—really a self-contained campus—stands poised to become a symbol of its rapidly changing neighborhood.”

The complex louvered ZIRA gives the interior walls a mind-bending visual marvel made of aluminum plated components, containing many unique forms. Also featured is a ZEPPS system, which forms the massive amorphic shape windowed by the cubed structure.

The official opening kicks off next Saturday March 8 with a nighttime gala. Look for Record’s full coverage of the project in the May 2014 issue.
