Material Innovation — Zahner hosts event with Jarden Zinc featuring Charles Renfro
This year’s Material Innovation party takes place May 19, 2016 — and will include a keynote speech by Charles Renfro.
During the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Conference in Philadelphia, Zahner will join Jarden Zinc to host an evening soirée. The event begins at 6pm on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the Kimmel Center.
Material Innovation celebrates architects and designers exploring material concepts and includes a display of unique material, highlighting the zinc patinated surface used for the McMurtry Building designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro.
Guest speaker Charles Renfro of Diller Scofidio + Renfro will highlight the importance of pushing to innovate material selection and how the zinc patinated surface was developed for the McMurtry Building.
The evening’s soiree will include cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, live music, and prizes. While the event is free, guests must RSVP as space is limited. Registered guests will receive a free gift and cocktail tickets. Reserve up to three seats, including the registrar. Dress code is cocktail attire…blazers, evening dresses, snazzy ties. Creative expression is not only welcome, but the norm!

Who: Charles Renfro, Partner at Diller Scofidio + Renfro, will share how his team pushes the boundaries of materiality and architecture. Renfro will explain the design concept and realization of the newly opened McMurtry Building for the Department of Art and Art History at Stanford University.
