International artist Jan Hendrix collaborates with Zahner for latest installation
New polished stainless steel work draws on nature to create an inspirational space.
Independent college preparatory school Pembroke Hill unveiled an evocative feature of its $52 million rebuilding project—new artwork by Dutch artist Jan Hendrix fabricated by Zahner.
The installation bookends the 37-foot-high barrel-vaulted roof of the new dining hall. Hendrix drew on nature to create the highly-detailed tapestry of the work. Zahner brought it to life, fabricating the intricate detail in stainless steel, and finishing it to enhance the way the light interplays with the work.
“It’s almost as if you’re inside a leaf, you know, the veins of the leaf and the artistic movement. You get this feeling of growth. I love this piece.” says Zahner CEO Bill Zahner.
